Take a Walk on the Quirky Side

I wasn't expecting to find a whole lot of "quirky" in Old San Juan, because it's so beautiful and perfect. I quickly ascertained, however, this area has plenty to offer.

Shutters instead of glass for windows

Chickens on the run

life-size statue of Curet Alonso (composer of 2,000+ songs), seated on his favorite bench.

Even garbage trucks are attractive

The streets and sidewalks are NARROW

The Parrot Whisperer
The Pigeon Whisperer

You can buy plantains in the middle of the street

Man on a mission

The mystery of mannequins....

There's no shortage of stray cats.

I look forward to more discoveries on my next Puerto Rican adventure!
